ECO4 Retrofit Project: 9 Flats in Lilly Road, Liverpool

Property Details

  • Location: Lilly Road, Liverpool
  • Properties: Flats 1 to 9
  • Project Completion: May 2025
  • Partnership: New Start

The Challenge

A nine-flat development in Liverpool required extensive energy efficiency improvements. The building needed a comprehensive approach to reduce energy consumption, improve heating efficiency, and enhance living conditions for all residents.

The Solution

Working in partnership with New Start, EGi Energy delivered an extensive ECO4 retrofit program:

  • Solar Panel Installation: Large-scale solar array installed across multiple roof sections
  • Electric Storage Heaters (ESH): Modern heating systems for all nine flats
  • Water Cylinder Upgrades: Energy-efficient hot water systems
  • Loft Insulation: Enhanced thermal retention across the building
  • Ventilation Strategy: Comprehensive air quality management

Tenant Qualification

All tenants across the nine flats qualified for ECO4 grant funding, demonstrating the program’s ability to support entire buildings and communities. The grant covered the full cost of improvements, removing financial barriers to better living conditions.

The Results

  • Dramatic reduction in heating costs across all nine properties
  • Substantial renewable energy generation benefiting the entire building
  • Improved comfort levels for all residents
  • Enhanced property portfolio value for New Start
  • Reduced environmental impact through lower energy consumption
  • Compliance with current energy efficiency regulations
  • Improved tenant satisfaction and retention
